    Our dedication to Christ makes us look like fools, but you claim to be so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are so powerful! You are honored, but we are ridiculed. Even now we go hungry and thirsty, and we don’t have enough clothes to keep warm. We are often beaten and have no home. We work wearily with our own hands to earn our living. We bless those who curse us. We are patient with those who abuse us. We appeal gently when evil things are said about us. Yet we are treated like the world’s garbage, like everybody’s trash—right up to the present moment.

    1 Corinthains 4:10-13 (NLT)

    The Good News we bear is this: Jesus Christ is the Lord. Through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection God has made a way that everyone who hears that Good News and believes will become part of his tribe, his disciple people.

    It doesn't stop there however, when we are just inside the door. Christ asks us to keep walking and to join in the disciplemaking of all peoples, even those next door and down the street.

    HolyFool exists to provide understandable, teachable, and provoking materials that help us all engage in and awken to what God is already doing in the world.

    As the apostle Paul implies in the passage above, being a fool for Christ has it's price. No one said following Christ wouldn't be hard—some times more than others—but we will persevere through the power of God’s Holy Spirit.

  • Handouts

    The passion and goal (as Holy Fool develops) is to resource churches with the materials they need to help their people engage with missiology and missional church concepts at an understandable level.

    The Heart of Mission (the title of this handout) helps provide the reader with a theological and biblical foundation of where mission comes from and what the heart of mission is. Mission isn't something that we have just 'come up with' in the last hundred years, and it isn't an 'over seas' initiative. Mission is grounded in the very being of God, and is for all times and all peoples.

    The downloadable PDF can be copied and distributed as needed. I only ask that it not be charged for in any way (i.e. this shouldn't be included as part of a for-pay seminar curriculum), and any attribution of credit return to Holy Fool. These materials are meant to help pastors and church leaders form, inform, and teach their congregations.

  • Group Resources

    As HolyFool grows you can check back here for resources that help small groups learn about how they can engage in God's mission (missio Dei) as a community.

    At HolyFool we firmly believe in the words of Peter in his first epistle to the very first missionaries in Asia Minor:

    "...for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

    “Once you had no identity as a people;
    now you are God’s people.
    Once you received no mercy;
    now you have received God’s mercy.”

    1 Peter 2:9,10
